VISA APPLICATION FEE INCREASE
Most FIRST Visa Application Charges will increase by 5.4% from 1 July 2019.
There will not be an increase in the second instalment VACs. So, for example, the hefty second parent visa charge for the Contributory Parent Visas will not increase.
REDUCTION IN MIGRATION VISA PLANNING LEVELS From the New Migration Year (which begins on 1 July, and for the next 4 years, the number of permanent visas that wil be granted will be reduced to 160,000 from 190,000.
PARTNER'S ENGLISH SKILLS - More points to be awarded From November 2019, points test will be adjusted to award additional points, to the primary applicants, where their partner has competent English, but cannot meet the requirements for skilled partner points.
Single applicants will also be awarded additional points to ensure they are not disadvantaged.
But we don't know how this change will be implemented.
The RSMS (Subclass 187) and Skilled Regional (Subclass 489) VISAS WILL BE REPLACED
by the The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) and Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visas on 1 November 2019
EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY GRADUATE (Subclass 485) VISAS for regional graduates
An additional 12 month second visa for international graduates will be allowed.
DESTINATION AUSTRALIA PROGRAMME
Scholarships will be available for international and domestic students to study in regional Australia for higher education or vocational education qualifications.
