Australian Visitor Visas

If you are not an Australian, NZ or Norfolk Island Passport holder, you must have a visa before you arrive in Australia.

If you are just coming over for a holiday, or to visit friends, or for a business meeting, you can apply for a Visitor Visa. The visa is normally granted for a period of 3 to 12 months. But you may be able to apply for a longer visitor visa, particularly if you are waiting for your parent visa to be processed.

  • You need a separate eVisitor for each family member travelling with you to Australia, including those who are younger than 18 years of age and are included on your passport.

  • In order for this visa to be issued each visa applicant must be of a good character. If you do have a criminal record please email us to discuss this requirement in more detail.

  • Your Visitor Visa Application will be processed within 1 working day to 1 month, depending on your nationality and circumstances.

More information about visitor visas is available on the Department of Home Affairs website.
